NOBUHISA NOGAWA

PRESIDENT NOBUHISA NOGAWA

Majored in electronic engineering at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan.
Worked in the engineering department of an electrical company for three years, during which time Nobuhisa Nogawa was involved in software development.
After passing the patent attorney examination, worked for Suzuye & Suzuye in Tokyo, Japan, for twenty-nine years, retiring as vice president and partner in 2021.
Start working at Nogawa Patent Office as president in 2022.

  • In addition to being admitted as a patent attorney, qualified in specific IP litigations in 2005.
  • In the Japan Patent Attorneys Association, appointed as a patent committee member in 1997, a council member in 2007 and 2008 and an exective director in 2022 and 2023.
  • Areas of expertise include electronic engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications, information technology, software, and business model.
KIYOSHI INAMOTO

VICE PRESIDENT KIYOSHI INAMOTO

Kiyoshi Inamoto holds a master's degree from Osaka Prefecture University in electric engineering. He worked for 20 years at the engineering department of a major electric company, and designed the electronic circuits and firmware of office machines. Mr. Inamoto joined NOGAWA PATENT OFFICE in 2003, and become a patent attony in 2010. He specializes in electronics, IT, and software.

HIROSHI SUMIKAWA

VICE PRESIDENT HIROSHI SUMIKAWA

Hiroshi Sumikawa holds a master's degree from Osaka University in biophysical engineering, and studied biophysics and neurophysiology. He worked at the pharmacological research department of a pharmaceutical company before pursuing a career in intellectual property in 1995. He joined NOGAWA PATENT OFFICE in 2004 He specializes in biotechnology and chemistry.

MASAMI TOMITA

MASAMI TOMITA

Masami Tomita holds a master's degree from Osaka University in electronics. He worked at an electric company, and developed information and communications equipment, network gear and software. Mr. Tomita joined NOGAWA PATENT OFFICE in 1992. He specializes in electronics, information and communications, and software.

YUSUKE KANEKO, Ph.D.

YUSUKE KANEKO, Ph.D.

Yusuke Kaneko has studied a control mechanism of signaling pathways at Hokkaido University. He holds a Ph.D. degree from Hokkaido University in pharmaceutical science.
After becoming a patent attorney, Dr. Kaneko joined NOGAWA PATENT OFFICE in 2009, and specializes in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and chemistry.

SHINJI KAI

Shinji Kai holds a master's degree from Nagasaki University in material engineering. He worked for 2.5 years at Kyushu National Industrial Research Institute, particularly working on semiconductor photocatalysis.
After becoming a patent attorney, Mr. Kai joined NOGAWA PATENT OFFICE in 2008, and specializes in electrochemistry.

HIDEKI YASUDA, Ph.D.

HIDEKI YASUDA, Ph.D.

Dr. Hideki Yasuda has a Ph.D. in engineering from Osaka Prefecture University (OPU). He worked as a research associate at JST-CREST and also at the graduate school of engineering at OPU. He contributed to research and development on ultrahigh-speed nano-scale optical switching devices before joining NOGAWA PATENT OFFICE in 2011. He specializes in electronics, semiconductor engineering, quantum optics, and nano technology.

KAZUKI SHIMAMOTO

KAZUKI SHIMAMOTO

Kazuki Shimamoto majored in chemistry at the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Kindai University in Osaka, Japan. Mr. Shimamoto worked for 8 years at an adhesive manufacturing company to participate in the product development of water-soluble adhesives. He successfully passed a patent attorney examination in 2021 and joined NOGAWA PATENT OFFICE in November 2022. He specializes in chemistry.
